Halloween and Trick or Treat: October 31

Oakwood holds its official Halloween trick-or-treat hours on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. throughout the city's residential neighborhoods. The City of Oakwood observes Beggar's Night on October 31 each year, and residents who plan to hand out candy are asked to turn on their porch or front door lights to welcome trick-or-treaters. Drivers are reminded to use extra caution during the two-hour window as children in costumes cross streets throughout town. The evening is free and open to all Oakwood families, and the city's walkable, sidewalk-lined streets make it one of the most popular trick-or-treat destinations in the Dayton area.
