A major Dayton history park with the original Wright Flyer
By Oakwood100 Local Team
Carillon Historical Park, a short drive from Oakwood, is one of the Dayton area's premier attractions, an outstanding history park anchored by the original Wright Flyer III and a landmark bell tower.
The beautifully designed park gathers historic buildings, innovative exhibits and creatively made films that tell the story of Dayton's remarkable history of invention, with the Wright Flyer III a genuine highlight. A carillon bell tower, a train ride and a carousel add to the experience, and the seasonal holiday lights are a beloved tradition.
Educational and engaging for all ages, it is consistently rated among the area's best historical attractions.
Open daily, roughly 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Sundays from noon), with a modest admission. Allow several hours; do not skip the films, and the train and carousel carry small extra fees.
